As is common in the beauty industry, Plan B Project is sometimes provided with products for testing and review purposes (often with no obligation to post). While it does not influence our coverage, Plan B Project believes in full disclosure of all potential conflicts of interest. This disclosure is present on any posts where applicable.

Our product reviews are independent and based on research and product testing. If you visit links within our content, we may receive a commission if you click and purchase through our link, but we never share links of products we wouldn’t use or like ourselves. Moreover, if we get compensated for writing a blog post review a disclosure is present on any posts where applicable.

Sometimes links are added throughout our posts with the sole purpose of navigating you to relevant content throughout our Website related to the topic you’re reading about. We may link to outside web pages if they relate to a source used to create our content (such as a scientific study) or if we think they could provide additional information that may be of assistance. These are chosen carefully and you can trust we’ll only lead you to reputable websites—sites we’d buy beauty products from ourselves, or view as trusted sources of information — never spam.

Plan B Project is a part of several affiliate advertising programs. This means that if you click and make a purchase through certain links on this site, I may make a commission from that purchase. The commission comes out of the retailer’s pocket, and the commission can range from as little as 1% to as much as 15% depending on the retailer, campaign, product type, etc. This does not affect you or the final price of the product if you choose to purchase through one of our affiliate links. It’s entirely up to you whether you do so or not.

There is NO pressure for you to click on any of these links or make any purchases. We only ever include links to products that we genuinely love and think that you might enjoy too.

We will always indicate when a post contains affiliate links, so that you may choose whether or not to click on them. All opinions in reviews/posts are entirely our own honest thoughts, and we will never promote a product/service that we don’t believe in.

We may refer to other products or services in our blog content. We name such products/companies/services only to give our readers an idea or source of inspiration, however, such information provided is not in connection with the corresponding companies. We retain no responsibility for any inaccuracy of information. This information is provided only as a reference for our users, and it is your responsibility to conduct your own research and make your own decisions about the product or service.

It’s safe to say, we feel pretty passionately about beauty products. We always say that we test beauty products so you don’t have to! We love to report back and share the products we think are actually worth your time and money. When it comes to the products we try, we focus on high-end and luxury products —however, we want to make sure to give all types of products a fair chance, so this means you’ll find cruelty-free, all-natural, vegan, or clean beauty products and share if we think there’s something about it that makes it worth testing (think: a cool new texture, breakthrough ingredient, innovative or conscious packaging or just a really mesmerizing shade we can’t stop swatching – this happens pretty often though).

As is common in the industry, beauty brands and PR agencies might send us products for consideration, but our thoughts and opinions are 100% our own—we’ll only recommend and/or praise a product if it’s actually worth it and we’re not afraid to tell the truth (even if it’s not so nice). We want you to consider Plan B Project your number one resource when it comes to discovering your next holy-grail product(s). We try to be one of the first to try new innovative beauty launches or viral products.

As said before, we might receive an affiliate commission on some of the products we recommend, but it will never affect our decision to cover the products we do.

In most of the posts on Plan B Project are affiliate links are used, that’s why there’s a standard affiliate disclaimer at the top of each post. Moreover, we currently mark posts with the tags “Purchased,” “Affiliate Link”, “PR Sample,” and “Sponsored Post.” You’ll be able to spot these at the top of a blog post as well as the bottom of a blog post. Below, you will find more in-depth descriptions of the common disclosures we make on the blog:

Purchased: The products featured on the blog are a healthy mix of products purchased by us for review as well as PR samples provided by brands. In order to make it clear that disclosures were not omitted or forgotten, we began including “Purchased” in the tags at the end of the blog post to indicate products we bought ourselves.

Affiliate Link: The majority of links to third-party retail websites are affiliate links. We receive a commission if you purchase any product(s) through affiliate links. It does not add any cost to you as the customer. The commission comes out of the retailer’s pocket, and the commission can range from as little as 1% to as much as 15% depending on the retailer, campaign, product type, etc. For many of our affiliates, if a product is returned, the commission is returned as well.

PR Sample: Brands, their representatives (such as their public relations firms, marketing affiliates), and retailers will send a product for consideration (this is also called PR). Consideration means that the product is submitted to us so we can check it out, most of them are without obligation to post.

Sponsored Post: Sponsored posts are specific posts that we have been compensated for. This includes sponsored giveaways, where the compensation may be in the form of prizes and/or financial compensation for exposure, handling of fulfillment, etc. Even though a post is compensated, our thoughts and opinions are always our own and 100% honest. This is always mentioned to the brand before settling on a collaboration.

As is common in the beauty industry, Plan B Project is sometimes provided with products for testing and review purposes (often with no obligation to post).
